Invited to participate on the recommendation of Alberta and Saskatchewan art experts, CKG artist Colin Smith won first prize in the Cenovus Art Competition.

 

Smith’s photo of  'Seebe' from the artist’s ‘Abandoned Landscape’ series proved engaging to the esteemed panel of judges. In this series the artist transforms abandoned buildings into camera obscuras.

The resulting images evoke both the western landscape and its remnants of rural decline.
