Leesa Streifler

+ About the Artist

Leesa Streifler is a multidisciplinary artist and art professor whose career spans over three decades. Born in Winnipeg and based in Regina, her work has been exhibited widely across Canada and as far as Bulgaria, and is included in prominent collections like the National Gallery of Canada. She is well known and respected for her feminist work investigating the female body as an expressive site of cultural and social affect, which takes shape through a combination of painting, drawing, photography and text. Streifler holds a BFA honours from the University of Manitoba and MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York, and is currently Head of the Visual Arts Department at the University of Regina.
