Aron Hill is a multidisciplinary artist based in Calgary known for his minimalist approach to drawing, painting and installation. His work employs minimal tools, colours and objects to explore themes of naturalism, architecture and narrative. Elegant and refined as John James Audubon’s Birds of America illustrations from the 1800s, Hill’s coveted bird drawings employ more imagination than observation, yet are seemingly so real, we are willing to suspend our disbelief and accept these anatomically incorrect characters as genuine.
Hill holds a BFA (Painting & Sculpture) from the Alberta College of Art + Design in Calgary as well as a MFA (Painting) from Goldsmiths College in London, England and has exhibited his work across Canada and as far as Dubai. His work is held in numerous private and corporate collections.
