Bénédicte Dussère lives in Clamart and works out of Les Frigos in Paris, France. She is a graduate of the École National Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and maintains a full-time studio practice focused on painting and drawing. For over a decade, she has limited herself to a palette comprised solely of black, wherein she finds endless variations of velvety depth. Hanging on the edge of abstract and figurative art, Dussère’s intricate works are masterful compositions of light and shadow which attempt to capture the deep and dense forms from her memory and imagination. Her process is highly intuitive, each painting leading to the next, building a narrative all of its own—a window to a moment in time and space which beckons to be explored.
