Karin McGinn is a multidisciplinary artist and curator working and living in Calgary, Alberta (Treaty 7). Her art practice explores the poetics and politics of the body as a site to understand and express her own ethnographic experiences living in this bodily container.

Utilizing the magical realism of airbrush techniques, McGinn creates erotic and surreal figurative imagery that are simultaneously beautiful and monstrous. Through the artworks, McGinn gives voice to her own agency as an act of empowerment and self governance.

McGinn holds an MFA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University and a BFA (with distinction) in Fibre from AUArts.
